  • Create a clear picture of what digitalization should do for your company.
  • Identify the expected savings that your company might achieve e.g. reduced manual handling by x hours, processes that support the business to free up x number of hours. The goals should be measurable so that your company can later follow up on the impact of your digital efforts.
  • How does your customers want to communicate with your company? Ask them and build your strategy accordingly. Order online, via app., call or email?
  • Break the silo mentality. It is important that everyone who works at your company understands that they are all involved in the customer experience. Find ways to collaborate so that everyone is involved in the company's digitalization process
  • Review the whole system and work systematically, for example, start with a smaller process that is critical
  • Review the processes and routines within the company so it supports the implemented digitalization
  • Involve IT-system users of what your company intends to digitize. These persons shall participate in the company's requirements process
  • Work flexibly, down large processes into smaller components test and evaluate them before taking on the larger tasks
  • Harness the power of IT and overhaul the tools you already have. If your existing systems don't communicate, there may be an integration solution that can help your business exchange data.
  • There is a lot that can be digitized e.g., receipt handling, supplier and customer invoicing
  • Follow up on your digitalization efforts by calculating what your company has saved in terms of time, reduced management, customers getting faster and better service
  • Test new technologies that can help your business get better.
  • Harness the power of automation RPA 24/7 for example by using a robot that loads data from all vendor invoices and posts it directly to the financial system, or a chatbot that answers customer questions
  • Use the power and flexibility of cloud services with the knowledge of where the information is stored so that it is done safely.
  • Don't delay digitalization – your competitors are moving fast, and your company needs to stay competitive.
  • If you fail quickly, the method is to test ideas by launching small, fast tests and seeing the outcome. This way you can see which ideas don't work and which ones produce the best results. You also avoid spending large investments in a project that may fail.
  • Listen to your employees and let them help with your company's digitalization. They can have digital talents and help the company on your digitalisation journey.
  • Receipt management can be digitized using a debit card linked to your accounting software or a receipt management app with a photo function is another possible solution. However, keep in mind that paper receipts always need to be saved in paper form.
  • Supplier invoices – By using a digital system for handling supplier invoices of course! Remember to ask all suppliers to send invoices such as e-invoice or PDF. Then they can be sent directly into your ERP system and handled, and details such as OCR number, payment date and account are filled in automatically. All you have to do is check that everything is correct, certify the invoice and then send it over as a payment file to the bank
  • Customer invoices – send the invoices digitally and partly by using systems such as Fieldly, which ensure that the customer invoices contain the right information and the right sums. This makes it easier not only for you, but also for your customers! There are also digital tools to help you keep track of invoices actually being paid, as well as send reminders and debt collection cases. All you have to do is make sure that the invoice you send to the customer is correct. Smooth, isn't it?
